The PF-2 EVO+ power strip is equipped with six, high-quality GigaWatt G-040 Schuko type power outlets. The brass contacts of the sockets have been technically silver plated, without the use of intermediate metals such as a layer of copper or nickel, which could introduce unfavorable series resistance and voltage drop. The enlarged surface of the contacts and the thick layer of silver guarantee a secure contact with the pins of the plugs.
For effective childproofing, G-040 outlets can be equipped with integrated electric shock shields (increased contact protection in accordance with VDE 0620). The PF-2 EVO+ is also available with NEMA 5-20R type outlets, used in North America and some Asian countries, and Australian AS/NZS 3112 type outlets.
All the internal components of the strip are enclosed in a metal housing with a double chassis. It provides a perfectly tight screen protecting the interior of the strip from RFI and EMI interference. The strip is also equipped with an LED indicating the correct operation of the device and a system indicating the incorrect polarity of the mains or a defectively connected grounding.
A filtering RLC-type block is responsible for suppressing interference. It was built using metallized polyester capacitors with low inductance and an IP (Iron Powder] type filtering core.
The EVO+ version uses the highest quality capacitors manufactured specifically for Gigawatt according to specifications.
All filter components are mounted with silver solder on a massive double-sided printed circuit board with very large cross-section paths.
The strip does not have traditional protective elements, such as fusible or thermal fuses, which by throttling the free flow of current to the protected circuits have a negative effect on the sound. Surge protection of the strip is provided by a cascade protection system consisting of plasma spark gaps and a new generation of UltraMOV varistors. These elements, working together with a properly executed modern electrical installation, guarantee comprehensive protection against overvoltage and short circuit.
The current distribution system used in the PF-2 EVO+, is the company's own development. Massive distribution rails, made of polished high-purity cathode copper (Cu-ETP) bars, deliver current directly to each pair of output sockets via crimped and bolted connections.
Internal wiring is done with 4 QMM GigaWatt Powerlink cables.
The use of a star connection topology, along with the high conductivity and massive cross-sectional area of 30 QMM of each rail, ensures even and stable power distribution regardless of the load on the individual outputs of the strip.
The PF-2 EVO+ uses an input IEC socket, which allows the user to connect any power cable.
The power strip comes standard with a 1.5m PowerSync power cord. In order to use the maximum potential of the PF-2 EVO, it is recommended to use one of the higher power cable models: PowerSync PLUS, LC-2 EVO or PowerSync ULTRA.
