Version 2 is a dramatic evolution based on the knowledge gained from the 3 series.

New Type-R circuit developed for the E-3

The analog circuitry uses the New Type-R circuit developed for the E-3, optimized for DAC use, and the power supply circuit uses the same non-feedback regulator circuit as the higher-end model.

Resisting IV circuit

The IV conversion circuit, which is extremely important for achieving a musical sound, also uses the same resistor IV circuit as our higher-end models, achieving a completely feedback-free analog stage.

ESS ES9038PRO installed independently on the L/R channels

The ES9038PRO, which has no unnecessary functions and boasts powerful current output, is used independently on the left and right sides.

Analog filterless

By almost completely eliminating the analog LPF, NOS delivers the organic, lively sound reproduction that is so characteristic of NOS. This effect is also effective when playing DSD.

NOS mode adopted

In addition to the conventional FIR oversampling mode, the TD-1000 also employs a non-oversampling (NOS) mode, which can be considered a non-feedback mode in the digital domain. This mode eliminates the pre-echo and post-echo observed in the impulse response of FIR oversampling.

Impulse output waveform (analog output) in FIR oversampling filter

Pre-echo and post-echo are artificial "sounds" created by calculation from previous and subsequent data in order to interpolate data. This makes waveforms such as sine waves appear smoother, but the calculation algorithm can change the sound quality and add ambiguity to the time axis.

Impulse output waveform in NOS mode (analog output)

This waveform can only be achieved in combination with a non-feedback discrete amplifier that does not use analog filters. Because musical waveforms are a series of impulse waveforms of different heights, the NOS mode eliminates the ambiguity of time axis information, bringing a more realistic and natural sound quality and sense of space to the human ear, which is very sensitive to the time axis.

*DSD does not enter NOS mode.

Uses a large 260VA toroidal transformer for the power transformer

The power transformer is a large, non-impregnated 260VA toroidal transformer, forming a power amplifier-class non-feedback power supply. The power supply for a non-feedback discrete amplifier is set at an exceptionally high voltage of ±43V, achieving both delicate spatial expression and a powerful, energetic sound reproduction.

Equipped with eight types of power supplies using original high-speed discrete regulators

The power supplies for the DAC peripheral circuits include separate left and right DAC analog and digital power supplies. There are also dedicated power supplies for the crystal, USB, logic, and SPDIF differential receiver. All eight power supplies use SOULNOTE's original high-speed, non-feedback discrete regulators, refined with a focus on sound quality, to maximize the performance of the ES9038PRO, which requires high current.

Direct Mechanical Earth Construction

By using three support points (one on the front and two on the rear), the feet can be placed directly under the transformer, achieving a mechanical earth that releases harmful transformer vibrations directly to the outside of the chassis. As a result, muddy sound caused by chassis damping can be eliminated.
