E-1 Ver 2. Phono Equalizer

Premium Silver/Premium Black

Version 2 is a dramatic evolution based on the knowledge gained from the 3 series.

Optical cartridge compatible

In addition to the conventional MC/MM input, an optical cartridge input has been added.Unusually for a product of this class, discrete non-feedback circuits are used for all analog circuits.

New Type-R採用

The output amplifier uses the New Type-R circuit developed for the E-3. The power supply for the optical cartridge also uses the same discrete non-feedback regulator as our higher-end model. This is the source of the organic, passionate sound.

MC/MM circuit refinement

The local emitter follower has been removed, simplifying the equalizer circuit. Furthermore, the original LED bias circuit has been replaced with a newly developed bias circuit, dramatically improving the sound quality of MC/MM.

Balanced input circuit (when using MC input)

This unit supports balanced input for MC cartridges. When balanced input is performed using a two-core shielded XLR cable, it becomes a fully balanced, non-feedback phono equalizer from input to output. The effect is overwhelming, expanding the sound field in three dimensions and allowing even the finest nuances to resonate more directly with you.

[Note] Although balanced reception is possible with the RCA input terminals by setting the operation selector switch to balanced, in this case the signal will be non-shielded, which may result in noise. Also, the operation selector switch is not an input selection switch. To prioritize sound quality, the "RCA terminal HOT and XLR terminal pin 2" and "RCA terminal COLD (GND) and XLR terminal pin 3" are internally connected. Therefore, you cannot connect two record players to the RCA and XLR terminals and switch between them.

*The product is unbalanced (NORMAL) when shipped.

Toroidal power transformer & non-feedback power supply

The phono equalizer features an unusually large 260VA non-impregnated toroidal transformer. Combined with a fast recovery diode, 1000μF filter capacitors in parallel, and a non-feedback power supply with a Darlington ripple filter circuit, the transformer produces an airy sound that seems to bubble up endlessly.

Direct Mechanical Earth Construction

By using three support points (one on the front and two on the rear), the feet can be placed directly under the transformer, achieving a mechanical earth that dissipates harmful transformer vibrations directly to the outside of the chassis, thereby eliminating muddy sound caused by chassis vibrations.

Input load impedance switching function (LOAD selector)

You can choose from 1KΩ, 300Ω, 100Ω, 30Ω, 10Ω, and 3Ω (when using MC input).

MM input function

By pressing the MM switch, you can use MM cartridges or MC step-up transformers.

Low-frequency cut function (subsonic filter)

If the woofer moves more than necessary due to warping of the record, etc., you can reduce this by turning on the low cut switch (MC/MM only).
