New Type-R circuit exclusively for photoelectric cartridges
The analog circuit for optical cartridges is equipped with the same fully balanced, non-feedback New Type-R circuit used in the E-3. The equalizer element is configured with a differential emitter bypass circuit, successfully lowering circuit impedance significantly. The electrically stress-free New Type-R circuit, which requires no phase compensation or bandwidth limiting, fully utilizes the advantages of photoelectric cartridges, which are free from the constraints of coil and magnetic circuit weight and inductive resistance. The combination of photoelectric technology, which has excellent transient response, and non-feedback technology creates a shockingly passionate and vivid musical space.

XLR terminal for power separation cable
This model is compatible with the separated power cable used in the E-3. Separating the signal and LED power sources maximizes the benefits of the optical cartridge.

Wide range of pre-RIAA old equalizer curves supported (MC/MM)
Six Roll Off (high-frequency attenuation frequency) settings, four Turn Over (low-frequency amplification frequency) settings, and six Low Limit (ultra-low frequency amplification limit) settings can be adjusted independently. A total of 144 curves are available, ranging from Decca and Columbia records to early SP records (flat). You can find the optimal equalizer curve by listening to the sound and adjusting the knobs, or you can create the desired equalizer curve directly from the included equalizer curve chart. Equalizer curve switching is performed using a mechanical relay, prioritizing sound quality.

Fully balanced, non-feedback phono equalizer circuit (MC/MM)
SOULNOTE's original fully balanced, non-feedback phono equalizer circuit provides precise RIAA characteristics to the differential amplifier gain itself, eliminating the drawbacks of conventional NF and CR types. Furthermore, the left and right channels are separated into individual boards, creating a twin mono configuration, enabling precise and expansive spatial depiction. Furthermore, in version 2, the MC/MM circuit has also been simplified by completely redesigning the bias circuit, resulting in a significant improvement in quality.
MC LOAD switching function
To maximize the capabilities of the MC cartridge used, the unit is equipped with a load impedance switching function with six different load impedances (3Ω to 1KΩ).
4 inputs can be connected
Four inputs can be connected simultaneously: a dedicated MC balanced input, two MC/MM unbalanced inputs, and a dedicated photoelectric cartridge input, allowing you to switch between them.
MONO function
It is equipped with a function that combines the left and right channels and outputs them as mono.

400VA super-heavyweight toroidal transformer & high-speed non-feedback power supply
The use of a single, extremely powerful 400VA bifilar-wound transformer clarifies the ground and power supply potential. The combination of multiple parallel-connected small-capacity capacitors and a high-speed non-feedback regulator effortlessly reproduces even the air movement rising from the stage, creating an accurate sound image.
MM load capacitance switching function
To fully utilize the performance of MM cartridges, the unit is equipped with three types of load capacity switching.
Invert function
It is equipped with an invert function that eliminates changes in sound quality caused by the circuit by swapping the HOT and COLD balanced outputs.
Gain Low function
It is equipped with a gain low function that reduces the output level, taking into account the headroom of the connected preamp, etc.
消磁機能(MC/MM時)
This function shorts the input. Playing a record in this state will have the effect of demagnetizing the cartridge. It can also be used as a mute function when the needle drops.
