Reviews and User Comments

Paul Rigby

“The mids and treble also felt richer here. The amount of new detail though was the most significant aspect of their presentation. The guitar strums added new detail. Again, there was a rich depth here. An insight to the resonance created by the guitar body. A sense that this instrument was more than a set of strings, there was wood and metal around them.

They not only give you a solid sonic upgrade from sub-£100 cables but they perform wonderfully in its own price point and show the original Ultra Blue I model a clean pair of heels, for example.”

“The soundstage has great depth, but appears wider with the Ultra Blue II…Overall, the top end of the Ultra Blue II is more elegant and the bass punchier.”

“…through experience, also know that TQ cables have a habit of exceeding expectations….along with a noticeably wider soundstage than the first edition Ultra Blue, instrumental placement within the soundstage – especially front-to-back – was better defined with the new cable.

…putting the new against the old, it’s clear that there’s a definite refinement in dynamics and instrumental coherence. This makes the Ultra Blue II a serious upgrade that delivers excellent performance at its price point.”

Ian Carr

“As you suggested, having now bedded the cables in over the weekend any harshness has now gone (even on not so good pressings). I know 60 year old ears are past their optimum but I do know when things are a little off.

So my feedback on these cables are that they are very good and certainly an upgrade on my previous cables. There certainly is a smoothness to them but they also reveal a lot of detail that I wasn’t hearing before. Would I recommend them? Unequivocally yes. They match very well in my system which may not be high-end (Pink Triangle record deck , Graham slee phono stage , Audiolab amplification and Dali speakers) but it provides the neutrality that I enjoy.”

– Ian Carr, UK

Simon Lomax

“The hope with a version 2 of any product is that it will be an improvement, an evolution from the previous version.

The Ultra Blue II is certainly such an improvement, in fact it is a huge step up in audio quality. Switching between the two generations in my system with the Ultra Blue II everything just sounds immediately better… more coherent, lower frequencies are more extended and defined, stereo image wide and more engaging. The previous version was excellent, but this is a serious upgrade and amazing performance at this price point.”

– Simon Lomax, Tellurium Q ears test pilot

Performance Profile

Blue Family Warm and forgiving for systems with a slight edge or for those who like a more smooth laid back presentation. Blue and Ultra Blue are especially good for AV and home cinema

Black Family Smooth, fine detailed and great resolution while actually reducing apparent harshness. Music is presented as a coherent, organic whole, with a jaw-dropping sense of realism and naturalness.

Silver Family Totally uncoloured, acting as a wide open channel sounding unforced, vivid and dynamic with phenomenal resolution, transparency and natural tonal colours. All this while sounding extremely analog and coherent, from the exceptional top end extension to bottom with finely detailed, separated bass notes.

Why Choose Tellurium Q

Tellurium Q is a British high-end cable manufacturer that has built a global reputation for producing cables designed around one core principle — preserving timing, coherence, and the natural structure of music. Rather than focusing purely on conductor materials or exaggerated “Hi-Fi effects”, Tellurium Q approaches cable design through extensive listening and phase-focused engineering, resulting in products that consistently improve musical flow, tonal balance, and system realism.

At HeyNow Hi-Fi, Tellurium Q has become one of the most successful and consistently recommended cable brands, particularly the highly regarded Black II series. One of the major strengths of the brand is how effectively the cables work together as complete looms throughout a system. Customers often begin with a single interconnect or speaker cable before progressively expanding through the range, discovering how consistency across the loom can significantly improve coherence, tonal balance, imaging, and overall musical flow.

The Black II range in particular has proven remarkably successful because it delivers genuine refinement and naturalness without pushing systems into sounding overly warm, bright, or analytical. As customers move further through the Tellurium Q range into Ultra Black and beyond, the presentation becomes increasingly open, dimensional, and revealing while still maintaining the musical ease and listening comfort the brand is known for. This scalability and system-wide synergy is one of the reasons Tellurium Q continues to receive worldwide industry recognition and strong long-term customer loyalty.

Signature Design and Sound

Manufactured in the United Kingdom, Tellurium Q products are developed using proprietary design methodologies centred around signal timing and phase behaviour. The company deliberately keeps many technical aspects confidential, preferring listeners to judge performance through listening rather than marketing specifications alone.

Sonically, Tellurium Q cables are known for their smoothness, coherence, and highly natural presentation. The sound feels organised and relaxed, with excellent tonal density and a remarkable ability to reduce glare and harshness without sacrificing detail retrieval or openness. Vocals become more believable and focused, instruments carry greater texture and separation, and the soundstage often feels deeper and more stable.

One of the defining strengths of Tellurium Q is the way complete looms allow systems to sound more unified and musically convincing. Rather than drawing attention to individual sonic traits, the cables work together to improve flow, timing, and realism across the entire presentation.

Tellurium Q Product Range

The Tellurium Q range includes speaker cables, RCA and XLR interconnects, digital cables, USB cables, Ethernet cables, and power cables across multiple performance tiers. Popular ranges including Black II, Ultra Black II, Silver, and Statement allow customers to progressively refine and scale system performance while maintaining consistency throughout the cable loom.

The Black II series remains one of the most respected and widely recommended ranges within high-end Hi-Fi thanks to its exceptional balance of musicality, refinement, and value. Higher-level ranges including Ultra Black and Silver introduce greater transparency, spatial realism, and low-level detail retrieval for customers seeking additional performance from increasingly capable systems.

For listeners seeking cable solutions that prioritise coherence, realism, and long-term listening satisfaction, Tellurium Q remains one of the most successful and musically rewarding cable brands in contemporary high-end audio.
