Graviton TI Tonearm
GRAVITON® Ti: Biomimetic Design. Absolute Fidelity.
The most advanced tonearm ever engineered.
Crafted for the discerning audiophile and the true music lover, GRAVITON® Ti delivers a new benchmark in analogue performance. This is British engineering at its most advanced—uniting a graphene-reinforced carbon fibre armtube with biomimetic titanium structures grown through state-of-the-art additive manufacturing.
Every curve. Every interface. Every gram. Considered, refined, perfected.
Engineered for absolute precision and mechanical neutrality.
A testament to the attention to every detail is STAGE One—a unique, elegant solution unlike anything seen before in tonearm design. It allows the tonearm wire to exit vertically over the pivot and into a shielded chamber with less than an inch of exposure, eliminating all mechanical force imposed by the wire and protecting the signal at its most vulnerable point.
No distortion. No colouration. Just pure analogue—faithfully preserved, beautifully delivered.
For those who demand more from their music. This is the future of vinyl. Engineered.
DESIGN
Quad-Helix Carbon Fibre Armwand
The GRAVITON® Ti armtube is a single-piece carbon fibre structure, hand laid by Wilson Benesch technicians with a complex quad-helix fibre orientation and an integrated carbon fibre headshell.
Its hyperbolic form optimises the distribution of stiffness and mass—maximising performance with zero material redundancy.
Reinforced with a graphene-enhanced matrix and selective U.D. fibre placement to optimise damping and energy transfer. Internally, Rohacell and viscoelastic materials provide industry benchmark damping.
The result is the stiffest, most highly damped tonearm tube ever engineered. If nature grew a tonearm, this is what it would look like.
Biomimetic Titanium Counterbalance Architecture
The GRAVITON® Ti features a titanium counterbalance system—grown, not machined—using advanced additive manufacturing. Evolved over years of R&D, this architecture transitions through hollow, tessellated, and solid sections, each meticulously optimised for its role within the system.
It begins with a lightweight hollow form that follows the helix of the carbon armtube, creating a large surface area for seamless energy transfer while keeping mass to a minimum. Moving under the pivot point to maintain the lowest possible centre of gravity, the structure becomes internally tessellated, absorbing energy through anisotropic lattice geometry.
Finally, it transitions to a solid form at the bearing interface—delivering maximum stiffness where it’s needed most. This adaptive architecture minimises mass, maximises damping and stiffness, and defines a form dictated entirely by function.
Kinematic Bearing System with Zirconium Elements
The GRAVITON® Ti features a precision-engineered kinematic bearing, evolved from the acclaimed A.C.T. One Tonearm. At its core are ultra-hard zirconium bearing elements, selected for their exceptional surface finish and ability to reduce friction under extreme Hertzian contact loads. These properties ensure near-zero stiction and ultra-smooth tracking performance.
A hybrid tri-point bearing arrangement—featuring two zirconium balls and one conductive steel ball—delivers both mechanical stability and effective electrical grounding. This combination minimises noise and distortion, enabling the tonearm to follow the groove with absolute neutrality and without interference.
When fitted to a Wilson Benesch turntable, the GRAVITON® Ti integrates its Piezo VTA system for micro-adjustable tracking height, along with a damping reservoir to further control resonance. Together, these features form a bearing system of remarkable precision, refined through decades of British engineering innovation.
STAGE One Over-Arm Interface
Originally developed for Wilson Benesch’s System Turntables—the GMT One and Prime Meridian—STAGE One redefines the relationship between the tonearm and the signal chain. Its over-arm design allows the tonearm wire to exit vertically above the pivot into a copper-shielded chamber, with less than one inch of unshielded cable exposed.
This eliminates mechanical loading at the bearing and prevents torque or drag from the signal cable—an often-overlooked flaw in traditional designs. At nanometre tracking resolutions, even the smallest external force can compromise accuracy.
Now engineered to integrate with select third-party turntables, STAGE One delivers its uniquely elegant and effective solution to a wider community of discerning audiophiles. By preserving mechanical neutrality and signal integrity at the most critical point, it ensures the music remains untouched, uncoloured, and absolutely faithful.
The FIN
The FIN is a precision-engineered titanium arch developed exclusively for the TESSELLATE® Ti Cartridge and GRAVITON® Ti Tonearm interface. Manufactured using Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), its form combines minimal mass with maximum rigidity, delivering superior mechanical stability at the critical connection point.
This is not a conventional fastening system. By replacing traditional bolts and washers with a structurally integrated component, the FIN completes a multi-material damping pathway, uniting cartridge and tonearm into one coherent, high-performance assembly.
For those seeking to extract the highest level of resolution from their analogue system, the FIN is a defining element—an expression of Wilson Benesch’s total systems approach to analogue audio.
Modular System Compatibility
The GRAVITON® Ti Tonearm has been engineered with modularity in mind. While it was originally developed for Wilson Benesch’s System Turntables, a custom armboard has now been created to support installation of the GRAVITON® Ti on other leading third-party turntables.
This is just the beginning.
With its 12" format and highly refined mechanical architecture, GRAVITON® Ti is ready to integrate into a wide range of premium analogue systems. Additional armboards will be developed to support other platforms.
For discerning audiophiles seeking to elevate their turntable with the world’s most advanced tonearm, Wilson Benesch invites enquiries for custom adaptation and installation.
